What is a Shrub?
A sweet and tart vinegar-based syrup infused with fruit and often botanicals. In colonial times, these "drinking vinegars" were a popular way to enjoy fruit all season long. The name originally comes from the Arabic word "sharab", meaning drink.
Flavor profile:
Bold blackberries and raspberries intertwine with herbaceous tulsi and bright lemon verbena, steeped in red and white wine vinegars. Rich, complex, and deeply satisfying, this red-violet-hued shrub drinks like a beautiful glass of young wine.
How to enjoy:
Add an ounce or so to a glass and top off with sparkling water, add to your favorite cocktail/ mocktail, use in salad dressings and marinades, or drizzle over desserts.
